H&M Beauty is launching an exclusive collection of 10 everyday vegan essentials for Gen Z consumers, from a frictionless razor to a body moisturiser, with prices starting at 2.99 pounds.

The brand is called OHH! (Oh Hey Hero) and has been designed to offer “an honest and modest curation of products that make life a little easier and whole lot more enjoyable”.

Sabina Odqvist, head of private label at H&M Beauty, said in a statement: “We don’t believe in complicated routines, layer upon layer of product and overpriced formulas. This collection is about inclusivity and accessibility while also being innovative and dependable.

“We want this range to make our customers feel comfortable and confident in their own skin and we really hope that it becomes an iconic upgrade on everyday essentials for our beauty and personal care shoppers.”

OHH! is inspired by “every young person’s potential to be their own hero,” explains the skincare brand, and is geared towards Gen Z consumers to help them celebrate “individuality, body acceptance, and freedom of expression”.

The 10-piece line-up has been edited and streamlined to save on stress while invigorating the daily routine with “super-smart, and dependable” essential products, explains H&M Beauty. Products include a moisturising stick with shea butter and sunflower oil, body lotion, deodorant, hand cream, a body scrub, body serum and wash, as well as a five-blade razor and shaving gel with aloe vera.

To make the beauty products stand out, OHH! has gone for eye-catching packaging and opted for fun product names, such as ‘Little Champ’ for the moisturising stick to prevent skin friction, ‘Clear Up Charlie’ for the clarifying body serum, and ‘Prom Clean’ for the citrus-infused body wash.

Johanna Lissmats, OHH! brand manager, added: “Beauty products might not be able to help you solve all your life's issues, but they might be able to tackle some. I believe our beauty heroes can help you smooth some issues over. We know our customer can do almost anything, and for everything else, there's always OHH!”

The Ohh! (Oh Hey Hero) line will launch exclusively to H&M Beauty on April 20 in more than 2,000 stores and online at HM.com across selected markets. Prices range from 2.99 to 6.99 pounds / 3.99 to 7.99 euros.

Pantone expands its SkinTone Guide to 138 shades

Pantone, the global authority on colour, is expanding its SkinTone Guide with an additional 28 new shades, featuring a wider array of darker tones and yellow undertones to appeal to a wider audience.

The SkinTone Guide, which marks its 10th anniversary this year, has been expanded to a total of 138 shades to incorporate “even more diverse shades,” explained Pantone to assist fashion, beauty and product development.

The move means that the SkinTone Guide, developed by Pantone colour scientists by measuring thousands of actual skin tones across the full spectrum of human skin types, will help brands and designers to meet the needs to include “every skin tone match imaginable,” as more brands and companies look to be more inclusive.

Tannese Williams, product manager for fashion, home and interiors for Pantone, said in a statement: “Our goal is to provide an inclusive, global product, in both digital and physical spaces, that reflects our global society and empowers companies to offer more inclusive colour matches for their audiences around the world.

“Colour inclusivity has always been an important part of our work, and we look forward to leading that charge in this next evolution of our products.”

Out Of Each Of The Four Seasons, perhaps the most romantic and anticipated is fall. The green landscape changes and suddenly there is a fireworks array of orange, red, yellow hued leaves lining the countryside and city streets warming up neighborhoods everywhere. Soon, evening temperatures will start to fall and we will find ourselves nestles away under a cozy blanket in front of a glowing billowy fireplace. Gone are the white stilettos, traded away for soft knit sweaters and a cute pair of riding boots! But what makes for a beautiful impressionist scene on an artist's canvas often doesn’t bode well for our skin. With a sharp decline in temperature along with humidity, and the warmth of the sun replaced with more dry, man-made heating methods, fall weather can be a nightmare for most skin types. So to help you and your precious skin survive the brutality of fall leading into winter, here are 5 essential beauty tips to get you and your skin through the change in seasons.  To read the full article

Hermès bets on expanding its beauty range

After sales of its beauty and perfume soared 15 percent last year, Hermès is expanding the category with new products.

Hermès debuted its first fragrance in the 1950s, but perfume only accounts for 4 percent of total revenue, while leather goods accounts for nearly half. With a new focus on beauty, Hermès is tapping into a lucrative category, even if arrives late to the luxury beauty party.

In the spring of 2020 Hermès launched makeup, starting with Rouge, a selection of lipsticks, and later rolling out blush and nail enamel. Last year it introduced a complexion balm called Plein Air. At the time Hermès creative director of Beauty Gregoris Pyrpylis told the Financial Times: “We have a simple approach to beauty, and I don’t see Hermès as a house that would have a huge range. That’s not the goal. We want to offer only the essential parts.”

With soaring sales in China, where beauty and personal care is set to grow 5 percent to 98 billion dollars in 2023 according to data from Euromonitor, foreign luxury houses may have an advantage over local brands.

Chanel, a storied luxury house with one of the most successful beauty businesses, is consistently in the top five of China’s bestselling beauty brands.

New products launching later in 2023

Eye makeup including mascara, eye shadow and liner are expected to be launched later in 2023, with tightly controlled distribution limited to its own omni-channel and select retailers like Harrods and Selfridges, in sync with its sales strategy for its Birkins and high-end accessories.

Hermès CEO Axel Dumas has been strategic to roll products out slowly, while at the same time removing plastic from its packaging and working with mostly French and Italian manufacturers.

HOW TO TREAT DARK CIRCLES AROUND YOUR EYES

While you can’t always do something about the causes of those dark bags under your eyes, such as in cases of genetics or ageing, there are a few tips and tricks to help make them less visible. Try these solutions to treat dark circles and bags:

  • Treat your eye area with an eye cream. An eye cream is specifically developed for the delicate eye area, like Olay Eyes Ultimate Eye Cream. It’s super charged with peptides, vitamins and colour-correcting technology to reduce the appearance of dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles for younger-looking eyes. Check out our eyes collection, and choose the one that’s best for you.

  • Add Niacinamide to your routine. By strengthening the moisture barrier, Niacinamide can help improve the look of under eye circles. Try Olay Regenerist 3Point Firming Anti-Ageing Night Cream Moisturiser with Niacinamide, and help retain your skin’s youthful look.

  • Get more sleep. Lack of quality sleep can result in dark circles around your eyes, so aim to wake up feeling rested with a sleep-nourishing evening routine. Drinking caffeine is off the table at least six hours before going to bed and your last meal should be about three hours before bedtime. You should finish exercising a few hours before you plan to go to sleep, and also you should stop looking at electronic devices, like your phone or laptop two hours before getting a good night’s rest. Going to bed and waking up at similar times every day could also help, it gets your body into a good sleep routine, and you’ll feel more energetic during the day.

Reduce exposure to the sun. Try to stay out of direct sunlight or wear protective clothing, such as a wide-brim hat or sunglasses, to reduce your skin’s exposure to harmful UV rays. Always apply SPF to avoid skin damage from the sun, a perfect solution for this is Olay Regenerist Whip SPF 30.
