Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni reach shocking settlement in 'It Ends With Us' battle — 2 weeks before trial

The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni over their 2024 film It Ends With Us has officially come to an end. The two settled Lively's lawsuit against her director and co-star on Monday, just two weeks before the case was set to go to trial on May 18 and about a month after a judge dismissed 10 of her 13 claims.

In a joint statement, both sides struck a conciliatory tone, saying the film "is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life." They emphasized the project's goal of raising awareness and making a meaningful impact for survivors of domestic violence, adding that it remains a cause they continue to support.

They also acknowledged that the process had been difficult, noting that concerns raised by Lively "deserved to be heard." Both parties reiterated their commitment to maintaining professional environments free from misconduct and expressed hope that the resolution would allow everyone involved to move forward constructively—and encourage a more respectful tone online.

Back on Feb. 11, Lively, 38, and Baldoni, 42, appeared at the Southern District of New York in Manhattan in an effort to resolve the dispute ahead of trial. The former co-stars arrived in notably similar outfits, drawing attention as they entered separately. Lively, who is married to Ryan Reynolds, arrived alone, while Baldoni was accompanied by his wife, Emily Baldoni, the two walking into the courthouse hand in hand.

The closed-door hearing, overseen by Judge Sarah L. Cave, marked the first time the actors had faced each other in court since the dispute began in 2024. Afterward, Baldoni left with his wife, briefly smiling at photographers but declining to comment, while Lively exited shortly after, also without speaking. AM
