Norma Kamali's Spring 2027: A Recipe Built on Four Key Elements

Norma Kamali's collection broke down into four categories: tracksuits meant for effortless pull-on wear, romantic feminine layering pieces, jeans, and bodywear featuring cutouts.

Kamali even used AI to create her own rap song, played over the collection's look book. The lyrics — "Know thyself and dress the way you want to dress. Make that you, and not following somebody else" — she said, reflected the way her collections are always built with the ingredients for plenty of mix-and-match wearability.

“I mean the song is silly, but the point is, while it’s a frivolous use of AI, we’re also using AI seriously for everything,” she said about deploying AI programs for organizational tasks, such as overhauling her e-commerce, which now shows moving look book images from her fall campaign.

Kamali, who also enjoys wearing her tracksuits, which sell well, paired them with little utility jackets, easy vests, fringed crop tops and merch T-shirts displaying slogans from the designer's book. Meanwhile, slip dresses cut on the bias, sheer shawl-style tops, gowns trimmed with soutache and peasant blouses with smocking brought a renewed feel to abundant girly layering done in pale pink tones.

Among the standouts were denim bottoms offered in washed pink velvet, true blue denim, and black and white vegan leather. Alongside her original Studio 54 silhouette from '77 came a low-rise boot cut, a slightly wider pair, and a range of cute skirts, tiny shorts and capris. Designed to work from day to night, these paired well with simple black shirts featuring long trains or elongated sleeves, while a dash of sexy showed up in her cutout black looks. That category included bodysuits, swimsuits-cum-rashguards, and long slinky dresses, which could be layered over catsuits for extra coverage or, as Kamali suggested of the bodywear, worn for working out.
